Cousin Doug, his son Brandon and family, stopped by to see the Stinson. It was great to see Fritz’s grandson, great-grandson, great-great-grandsons, and great-great-granddaughter climb in and ‘fly’the Stinson.

Hot Day

And the hangar is like an oven during the afternoons so we went out early this morning.

Sunday

Marie and I spent most of the weekend working at the hangar. We were able to figure out my elevator trim issue, installed the right elevator, installed the control wheels, and started the aileron alignment process.

Pending thunderstorms sent us home early.

Both elevators on and the trim set up.

Received my aileron crossover cable from Univair. They had to make it so it took a few weeks. I could make my own but why.

Our daughter is getting married this weekend so my attention has been elsewhere (and my checkbook). I will jump back into the project on Sunday.

Wing bolts

Aligning the holes to insert the wing bolts is not easy. It’s a very tight fit and has to be perfectly aligned. Someone posted a solution on the Stinson owners webpage that I think works great.

I made one, installed it from the back which aligned the hole, allowing me to easily install the correct bolt easier.
