I decided to sandblast some areas.

I’m not sure why I thought the original color was blue except that was the color on most of the surfaces under the red.  I found this on the Stinson website:

I wonder where all the blue originated……this serial number is 2391.

Finishing up some last minute sanding and sand blasting before taking it to the painters on Thursday. Once there I will wipe it clean and mask a few things off.

The fuselage is back on the trailer and back to storage for a few weeks while I wait for the painter to get it in his schedule.  He said in about three weeks.  That gives me a few weeks to work on the things we pulled off this weekend.  It’s so much lighter, two people can pick it up and load it on the trailer.

I need to get the landing gear overhauled so I took the wheels off the landing gear this morning.  I will get the new tires and tubes installed at this time.    I also media blasted a couple spots to see how it would work and it seems to be fine.  I may do it to some other spots before I get it painted. See below.
