Old Hardware

One reason why I am changing out the old hardware. All if not most is at least 70 years old. It’s showing its wear. These are the seat pivot pins. One old and one new.  You can see the wear on the pin from pivoting the seat back so passengers can get into the back seat.

Landing Gear

It’s back on its landing gear. I finished the last strut today and Aaron helped me get the gear mounted.

On its gear again.  New tires look pretty nice and they seem to hold air.

Landing gear legs attached to the landing gear shock struts.  Struts were disassembled, cleaned, polished, O’rings replaced, cylinders honed, reassembled, and then serviced with 5606 fluid.

Brake Cylinder

Finally got one apart after soaking it for days. I cleaned it up and installed a new O-ring. Then I installed it to check the fit.

Update :  working in the right side. This one came apart easily and is in somewhat better shape.

Engine Mount

Taking the mount in for media blasting and inspection for cracked welds and cracks in the tubing.

First time it’s probably been on since the 60’s I’m guessing.

I’m taking it in today (3-4-16) to get it inspected for cracks.

Before media blasting.  It looks really rough.
