The photos uploaded out of order but you get the idea. 

First one shows the original door panel. I am searching to try and find the original color for them. 

Second photo shows the new door pane with the door clips installed 

Third one show a coat of clear on the mahogany plywood for the left rear window. 

The fourth and fifth photos show the panel before clear coat applied. 

Safety wiring and cotter keying the important stuff also, cleaned up the vertical stab elevator cable feed through.  

Drilling the holes for the right side panel. You can see why I’m replacing the old ones. This side has some holes, cracks, and dents that, although they were probably caused by grandpa Fritz, just look terrible.  Looks like an antenna might have been mounted by the windshield on this side. Not original so it’s gone.

I purchased some aluminum for new panels today. Got lucky when one of our best sheet metal guys was in the same location as me. He offered to cut the new ones for me. He saved me a lot of time and frustration. 

The top three photos are the existing panels. The remainder are the cutting and fitting of the panels. Ran out of time tonight. Will cut the window holes tomorrow. 

I added a photo at the end showing the almost completed horn assembly. 

Old on top of new. Measuring for new panels on new plywood. Will cut out, stain, and install. 

They keep dirt out of the bushings for the rudder, elevator, and ailerons.
