I needed some room and to be able to move the engine around easily so I installed some wheels on the engine mount and took it off the pallet.  Seems to roll around better and stores better.

Beginning work on the bottom shroud.  Removed the venturi tube and the doubler.

Underneath the shroud:

Temporarily reinstalled on the shroud.  The doubler wasn’t correct  so I’ll have to make a new one.  

After power washing.  Found one bent pushrod tub.

Before power washing:

Several layers of paint.  The top coat was red and cream while underneath that was brown and cream.  Then under the brown and cream was another red and cream.  The finally the blue and cream with the green primer under that coat.  It took a lot of stripper and sanding to get it off.  Still not completely finished but I’m done for the night.

I removed all the paint from the left side fuselage shroud.

I was able to work on the left side door today.  Removed the rest of the red/blue/creme paint.

I power washed the wheel pants, too.  The insides look better but there are a lot of dents to remove.

Wow, lots of bird nests in the horizontal stab!  Marie and I power washed the rudder, elevators, and the horizontal stab all afternoon, cleaning out lots of nesting material.  The good news is I didn’t see any corrosion on first glance.  I will use a light and mirror tomorrow and see what’s going on inside.
