Hard to find chrome grilles have been located.  They look nice!  They have some wax on them but the section where I’ve removed the wax looks great.

Moved the kids home from college this week so I had very little time to do any work. I did clean up a panel though.

Some photos of moving the Stinson. Sure wish I could have taken that shed with me.   It was very nice. 

History on the ownership of N9391K.  Born on date is April 11, 1947, so the Stinson is 68 years old.

$5,015.57 in today’s dollars is $54,777.48.

The average condition flyable Stinson 108-2 price on today’s used aircraft market is $35,000.00.

We have a friend who is a very good artist who is going to paint grandpa’s old emblem on the aircraft. I paint the left shroud red so she could practice on it. The gold part at the top is really red and is an optical illusion. 
   

the doors actually have the aircraft serial numbers written inside!  So I know both doors are original. 

The first photo is before power washing the baggage lining.  It wasn’t too dirty for as long as it’s been sitting around.  I will have to sew in new tie downs, or rather Marie will have to sew in new tie downs.  It cleaned up well after the power washing.    Cleaning the baggage compartment canvas. Lemon juice and salt for 24 hours is supposed to remove the rust. A power washer and detergent removed the dirt from the canvas.
The rust is still there but it looks much better. 

Nice to see it works.  Cleaning and replacing the old wire.  Can you believe these are $349.00 new?!

I’m not thinking about the paint scheme yet, but figured the best bet  is blue and creme as it came from the factory.  One thing for sure is this logo has to go on somewhere!  You can see the same logo on the tail of the Murray Sport below.
