Sunday at the Hangar

We had cold temps and snow last week and the same is forecast for next week, but today was 66 degrees so we went to the hangar. I hung a new LED light in the hangar, and had to move the airplane out to do that, so there are photos of it outside. After that we worked on finishing up the windshield installation. Getting closer to having that finished.

Windshield fitted and the plastic layer taken off the left side windshield. Hard to tell it’s so clear.

Oil Cooler and Mufflers

Removed the last of the accessories to be checked before sending the engine off for overhaul. The mufflers came off rather well.

Warmer weather finally

Except today is cold and windy, the last few days have been in the 50’s. 50’s again this weekend so it’s time to head back to the hangar!

I stopped by this week to check on the Stinson. Tires are still up so that’s good.

Cold Wednesday

I asked a Co-worker who owns a Stinson 108-3 to stop by the hangar today to look things over with a fresh set of eyes. He spent over an hour looking things over and talking about my work up to today. I hope to have him back in a few months when I’m closer to getting it airworthy.

Hangar Sunday

Only one photo was taken today and it’s not a great one. I was running the parking brake cable through the firewall to hook it up and while at it I ran the other control cables.

Hangar Sunday

Finished up the brakes today. I will add fluid later this week and test them.

Brake line running through the bottom fuselage.
Not a lot of room between control cables and brake lines. Rudder cable is the closest and out of focus. The two farther in are the aileron cables. Just below and behind the brake cable is the elevator tube.
