Wiring up the starter and generator, finishing up the intake installation. Exhaust, fuel line, and P-leads for the magnetos are next. Then hang the prop and see if it’ll start.

Marie and I installed the ‘new’ engine today. All went well with no issues. I picked up another Franklin engine that was recently overhauled and running on a Stinson. The owner switched to a different manufacturer.

It’s time to start getting the engine ready. There’s more to this story that I will save for later, but the first step is the engine coming off.

Adding fuel to the tanks to check for leaks. Everything checked fine with no leaks. The fuel switch works and the tank drains, too. The tanks have been dry since 1967 ish.

Another Sunday at the hangar. Temps were good.

Finished up the landing lights. Did some more stuff, just took photos of the lights.

I finally had a weekend at home to go to the hangar. Work has been keeping me busy, traveling on Saturday’s and Sundays.
Accomplished a lot of things but nothing in particular. We did get to see the Mooney across the tarmac start up for the first time in 20 years.

Both came back yesterday. I sent them to Aerotech of Louisville in Louisville KY.
