Stuff

I’ve been busy working on the Stinson but have been lazy about posting new photographs.

I cut and fitted new heating duct on the engine side.  Also, cleaned and primed the pitot tube.

  • First photo is the new duct.
  • Second one shows the old stuff.
  • Third one shows how bad the old stuff was.
  • Fourth shows the pitot tube before.
  • Fifth shows it now.

I’ve been busy getting ready for Oshkosh next week. I now have a better idea of what to look for up there and what to ask other Stinson owners. Stay tuned for some Stinson photos

Cowl Anti-chafe tape

Working on the cowl. Removing the old chafe tape and replacing with new. The tape is riveted to the cowling. 5/8″ tape coming off. Found a good deal in 1″ tape and will use that if my Stinson expert Gary doesn’t see an issue.

a minor repair was done to the cowl at one time.

Seats

Working in the seats so I can get them to the interior guy at work. He will make seat cushions, side panels, and door panels.

Today I cut and fitted the seat back panels and drilled the screw holes.

My borrowed seat for patterns.

Mt seat back piece i made.

Both seat back panels in place.

The white pieces are patterns i made from the borrowed seat for my new cushions.

Door and Side Panels

Finished these by drilling all the holes and making sure the mopar door clips line up and work. They do.

Sent pictures to the guy who will be covering them for me to get an estimate.

Left side door and side panel

Existing Stinson door panel and how this one will look.

The seat borrowed seat in so i can use it as a pattern.
