Painted and at home. 

Someone over the last fifty years of this engine in storage, borrowed or loaned the starter. So I didn’t get one with the engine. I found one in serviceable condition and snatched it up fast. Even came with the Bendix gear on it. I found another starter in inventory at work and bought that one, too. It didn’t have the Bendix gear on it though. 

Not bad for a beginner. I have a couple runs I need to fix. Nothing terrible.

Painted the rudder , some trim pieces, and one elevator today. Fingers crossed to see how it looks once it’s cured. 

The rudder trim is hooked up and working fine. Here’s a video with Marie as the pilot in command while I check freedom.

I was out of town all weekend so didn’t have much time to do anything. I did start cleaning up the Struts.

So many little things to do before covering. Spent the evening checking torques, cable runs, stringer attachments, etc. no photos today. 

Wait. I did take a few photos. 

The Stinson cowling insides were not painted from the factory according to my Stinson expert Gary. I didn’t want to leave mine bare so I primed them and will paint them an aluminum color that can withstand extreme temps, oil, and fuel.
