Stinson parts are not cheap. Two wheel pant brackets and a prop plate.

Throw in some plastic and I’ll be ready to spray some paint. Hopefully by Saturday.

….is a long process.

Beginning the placement of stencils. The registration number will be the same color as the stripe as will the Stinson logo on the tail and the cowling.

Yep, much better now.

Thanks to input from my friend Gary, my stripe is wrong as I guessed. The factory drawing is wrong. The stripe should start at the center opening of the cowling grille and run down the side to the same point at the tail. The stripe is the same width as the grille slit opening.
Sure glad I noticed it looked wrong and didn’t spray it.

Between the two blue lines will be the Diana Creme stripe. I put on the tape where the plans say to apply but compared to other stinsons the stripe looks too close to the door knob. I won’t paint until I get it right.

I’m not a painter but it doesn’t look too bad. I’m afraid to take it out into the sun as you’ll see all my mistakes.
Next comes the Diana Creme stripe down the side.
