Wanted to remove the bird stuff and 40+ years of dirt. They actually look really good under all the dirt. It’s too bad I have to remove the old fabric.

Jeff, I planned to call you this evening, then realized I didn’t have your ph.# so doing the next best thing . Yes, the wings look awesome, so bright and shinny. It’s been too many years, so sorry you have to tear that all off. Hopefully they have newer easier ways of covering wings. many years ago I helped Dad & John, recover maybe this one, definitely Stearmans. Not an easy job. My little hands could get through the places in the wing to retreve stuff for them. It was always worth a QUARTER!!! Looks like you had a great turnout for the day. Yeah it’s too bad it all has to come off but it for the better after what I’ve found inside the first wing.
Great turnout for the day. Lots of help. Sent an invite to Evart but I believe he was at a fishing tournament.
Wings are pretty easy to cover. The hard work is getting them ready to cover. I’ll try to send you my phone number in a Facebook message thing. Otherwise I’ll get it to Susie. Hope you’re enjoying the photos and all. I want to make sure all of grandpa’s family can get some enjoyment out of the airplane. After all, I’m just the caretaker of it now. We all have some memory of it and Fritz and I hope this brings back some of those memories for them.
