I had some difficulty getting the circles around the instrument panel to be circles. Taping off with blue tape didn’t give me a “perfect” circle as you can see in some of my previous photos. So I designed some paint plugs to fit in snugly in the holes so I could paint them. I used my 3D printer to make enough to blank out the holes. I think it looks much better.

Hi Jeff, hey, thanks for sharing with me, I appreciate the thought! Haven’t heard from many out there, talked to Joe Moritz about a week ago, and talk to Steve Joe sometimes, even that’s been 3-4 weeks or so now. Kinda try to keep up on what all is going on out there, but, as I usually comment, “I’ve been so busy doing nothing, I don’t have time to get anything else done”! Things are looking pretty good on the instrument, how did you figure out how to make those plugs anyway? A friend of mine just got his private pilots license about a month ago, so have been doing some aviating with him lately. Met him at Crete for a pancake feed, then flew off to York, Ne to get some fuel and enjoy the day flying. It got pretty hot and rougher than heck coming and going. I didn’t complain, but Tim (Lindstrom) wasn’t to happy about it. I even talked him into allowing me to make the takeoff when departing. I don’t think I scared too bad, but felt good to get behind the controls again, it’s been a few years, but it sorta felt natural, and didn’t feel uncomfortable. I’m pretty sure he was more uncomfortable than I was. Ha! At that time we were flying a Cherokee 140 with a 160 hp engine that he bought, then he sold it, flew it clear overs to NC with his wife, and returned on a commercial jet. Claimed he had quite the experience, and learned a lot from it. Last Sat. we flew to York for the pancake feed there in a Cherokee Warrior that he bought, it had a 180 hp engine, retracts, and three bladed prop etc., a really nice airplane. I’ll try to remember to send you some pics of it. Said he flew it to Sioux City, IA, to take his son back to college, and got a 176 kt ground speed out of it. Apparently had a good tail wind, but was trying to beat a T-storm so probably wasn’t an efficient throttle usage involved, but he made it and got out of there on time. Well, better cut it off or you might quit emailing me anymore. Ha! Nice hearing from you Jeff, stay safe!

I was getting ready to send you the pictures of Tim’s airplane, and I don’t have your email address! Thought I did, but don’t understand what happened to it. Thought It’d be on this email, but didn’t see a complete address, or don’t think I did. So, would appreciate an address you’d like me to send them to. Thanks!
