Let’s try this again

Removing the stencil. I won’t be able to reuse it for the other side as I had hoped.
Photo of how the stencil looked in 1947 on a similar Stinson. The Stinson in the photo is just nine serial numbers away from mine.

The nose decal and the stripe went on great. However, the N number and Stinson logo didn’t fair so well. I think it went on too thick #stinson
So I will try with a different sprayer.

Stinson parts are not cheap. Two wheel pant brackets and a prop plate.

Throw in some plastic and I’ll be ready to spray some paint. Hopefully by Saturday.

….is a long process.

Beginning the placement of stencils. The registration number will be the same color as the stripe as will the Stinson logo on the tail and the cowling.

Yep, much better now.

Thanks to input from my friend Gary, my stripe is wrong as I guessed. The factory drawing is wrong. The stripe should start at the center opening of the cowling grille and run down the side to the same point at the tail. The stripe is the same width as the grille slit opening.
Sure glad I noticed it looked wrong and didn’t spray it.
