Finishing up some lower Cowling items. 

Works great. No gloves and it washes up with water. Brush it on for 24 hours and this happens:

Removing paint from the tough spots. 

Ordered the fabric today.  34 yards to do the fuselage and wings. 

Parts going to the paint shop on Monday. Cowling top, doors, side panels, elevator, rudder, vertical stabilizer, and windshield frame. 

One Standoff had been repaired before and needed to be replaced. So here’s a sort of before and after photo. 

Manufacture date is April 11, 1947. So on Tuesday it’ll be 70 years old. 

The bottom clips were all rusty so I cleaned them (seems like that’s a full time job) and put on some zinc primer. Should hold them until the next fabric covering. Photos are in reverse order. 

Fitting the cleaned up and painted fairings. 

Cleaned up and painted the battery box lid and cut new wood strips. Looks pretty good. Fits great.
