We have a friend who is a very good artist who is going to paint grandpa’s old emblem on the aircraft. I paint the left shroud red so she could practice on it. The gold part at the top is really red and is an optical illusion. 
   

the doors actually have the aircraft serial numbers written inside!  So I know both doors are original. 

The first photo is before power washing the baggage lining.  It wasn’t too dirty for as long as it’s been sitting around.  I will have to sew in new tie downs, or rather Marie will have to sew in new tie downs.  It cleaned up well after the power washing.    Cleaning the baggage compartment canvas. Lemon juice and salt for 24 hours is supposed to remove the rust. A power washer and detergent removed the dirt from the canvas.
The rust is still there but it looks much better. 

Nice to see it works.  Cleaning and replacing the old wire.  Can you believe these are $349.00 new?!

This is on the bottom of the fuselage shroud piece.  The first three photos are before media blasting.  The last photo is after media blasting.

I’m not thinking about the paint scheme yet, but figured the best bet  is blue and creme as it came from the factory.  One thing for sure is this logo has to go on somewhere!  You can see the same logo on the tail of the Murray Sport below.

I needed some room and to be able to move the engine around easily so I installed some wheels on the engine mount and took it off the pallet.  Seems to roll around better and stores better.

Beginning work on the bottom shroud.  Removed the venturi tube and the doubler.

Underneath the shroud:

Temporarily reinstalled on the shroud.  The doubler wasn’t correct  so I’ll have to make a new one.
